After talking with Justin about my game idea for my character project, I think I have my idea pretty much finalised. My initial idea was to have the main character fight in a post-apocalyptic world with the ability to manipulate time using a special energy that is rare in the present time. Justin suggested making the Time a more key mechanic, for instance now the main character will be able to travel seamlessly between the present time and the time before the apocalyptic event using energy (energy being rare in the present time). E.G. character is walking down a hallway but it’s blocked by rubble, by traveling back in time before the route is blocked the character can pass the block and then return to the present.
As for the story I have this; The Main character is a soldier stationed in a city, she is experimented on using special energy to be a new form of soldier, during the experimentation the Energy Overloads and the main character blacks out. The Main character wakes up in post-apocalyptic version of the city (the future) with no memory of how she got there or who she is. Through the story the main character tries to find out her past. There are two main villains in the story, one in the past and one in the future. The one in the past is a high ranking military officer trying to gain control of the city through force, the other is a man who controls the energy factory in the future, by using the energy source everything needs he runs the city in a dictatorship. It is the main characters mission to free the city in the either the past or future, or both.
